1. Who we are
Capitalle is a free daily geography game where you guess the world capital of the day. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we use it. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@capitalle.app.
2. Data we collect
We collect minimal data to operate the game and improve it:

3. Cookies
We use two types of cookies and local storage:
- Essential (localStorage): Stores your game stats and preferences locally on your device. No data is sent to our servers. You can clear these at any time via your browser settings.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): Used to understand how players interact with the game — which features are used, how long sessions last, and which countries players come from. IP addresses are anonymised. These are only set after you accept cookies.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data. Google may process this data on servers outside your country. You can opt out at any time using the cookie banner on this site, or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more on how Google uses data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising
We may display ads via Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing behaviour. You can manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of analytics and advertising cookies at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Since all game data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it instantly by clearing your browser's localStorage. To exercise any other rights, contact us at hello@capitalle.app.
7. Data retention
Game stats stored in localStorage remain on your device until you clear your browser data. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted.
8. Children
Capitalle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
